Mommy in Progress

A few days ago I was thinking over the past almost 6 months of Isaiah's life. I was thinking over the things I have learned, how have I changed and how to be a good momma to him in the future. That's when I realized that I am now and will for the rest of my life be a mommy in progress. I am learning everyday how to navigate through the waters of mommyhood. Each day is different and holds new surprises for me! Isaiah is changing so fast! I love being his mom and I love watching him grow through each stage of his little life. There is nothing like being a parent!

5 Months

Oh boy when people say that babies grow up quick they aren't kidding. Isaiah is already 5 months old and counting. Each month seems to go by that much faster than the previous. I still often feel like I'm in a dream and that at any moment I'm going to wake up. I can't believe the Lord chose us to be mom and dad to this wonderful little boy. He brings laughter, smiles and so much joy to our lives and on July 6, 2011 his adoption will be final! Praise the Lord! 

Month 5: 

Weight and Height: 13lbs and around 26inches. This is a guess because he only goes every 2 months and keeping him still to measure him is pretty tough!

Eating Habits: He has a bottle about every 3 hours or so and eats baby food twice a day. So far he has had peas, carrots, green beans, avocado, bananas, apples, pears and butternut squash. He loves some of them mixed together like avocado and bananas or apples and pears or carrots and green beans. He learned quick how to eat from the spoon and is loving every bit of it!

Sleeping: He is sleeping through the night and wakes up about 6:30am to play with daddy before he heads off to work. 

Pacy or Thumb: Recently he started sticking his thumb through the little hole in his pacy to hold it in place. 

Clothes: We packed away all the 0-3 months! He wears anything from 3 months to 9 months. Some are huge and some fit just right!

Favorite Activities: My in-laws gave us a bike trailer so now he enjoys bike rides, stroller runs, some pool time, his exersaucer and still loves that playmat! 

Baby First: We celebrated Father's Day and took him on a hike!
